Bulgarian Language Courses in London
Bulgarian is an Indo-European language, a member of the Southern branch of the Slavic languages. Bulgarian is closely related to Serbo-Croatian and is often mutually intelligible with it. It is also, to a degree, mutually intelligible with Russian. Although related, Bulgarian and the Western and Eastern Slavic languages are not mutually intelligible.The Bulgarian language is written in the Cyrillic script and occasionally in the Latin script. Road signs and street signs are almost always written in the two scripts. With the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union on January 1, 2007, Cyrillic became the third official alphabet of the EU.
The majority of Bulgarians live in Bulgaria ( about 6.6 million). There are Bulgarian minorities and immigrants communities in the Ukraine ( 204,000), Spain( 93,000), Moldova (84,000), the USA ( 60,000), Argentina ( 54,000), Germany ( 39,000), Greece ( 37,000), Brazil (35,000), Russia ( 32,000), Turkey (30,000), the UK (30,000), Serbia (21,500) and various other countries.
Bulgaria, officially the Republic of Bulgaria, is a country in Southeastern Europe. It borders five countries: Romania to the north mostly along the Danube, Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia to the west, and Greece and Turkey to the south, as well as the Black Sea, which comprises its entire eastern border.
After almost five centuries of Ottoman rule, Bulgaria was reestablished as a constitutional monarchy in 1878. Part of the Eastern Bloc after World War II, today Bulgaria is a democratic, unitary, constitutional republic, a member of the European Union and NATO. Bulgaria's current population is 7,679,290, a decline of 1.5 million since 1989.
Bulgaria has enjoyed a substantial growth in income from international tourism over the past decade. Beach resorts are popular with tourists from Germany, Russia, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom. The ski resorts are also a favorite destination for British and Irish tourists.Industry is also very important to the economy. Although Bulgaria is not very rich in reserves of coal, oil, and gas, it is a major producer of electricity and the most important exporter in the region. Ferrous metallurgy is very important and Bulgaria also has some of the largest refineries for lead, zinc and copper.
Bulgaria offers excellent conditions for high-tech and telecommunication industries and services with its strategic location, highly-qualified workforce, macroeconomic stability, growing domestic market and good education. Evening Classes
We organise weekly Bulgarian evening classes in central London for beginners. Beginners group classes cover general topics for those with no prior knowledge of the language such as: greetings and introductions, buying tickets, eating out, shopping, asking for personal information etc. The maximum number of students is 10 per class.
